How do you Write a Professional Resume?

Executive Resume Writing

To write a winning professional resume for an executive is a task which is often undertaken by professionals who offer resume writing services. The executive resume is written from a slightly different angle even though the resume objectives may be along the same lines as can be seen in the article below

How to Write a Winning Resume

The winning resume and the executive resume are not always the same. The executive resume has to sell like crazy but has to remain conservative and professional in style at the same time.

Writing an executive resume

The executive resume differs slightly from the standard resume. Executive positions are rarer and far more sought after with a more lucrative remuneration therefore the expertise and experience called for is generally of a higher standard. The resume has to reflect this and is therefore somewhat more detailed.

The higher end positions are normally filled by those with a considerable amount of 'life experience' and often, aspects that appear in most resumes are deemed as unimportant and un-necessary in a professional resume, such as high school experience, holiday jobs etc.

The resume, more than employment held should show objectives reached and career accomplishments. After all, a past employment record only shows that you were cleaver enough to get the job in the first place, it doesn't actually say anything about how you performed the job which is what the potential employer really needs to know.

The actual layout of the executive resume should be a little more conservative in style than the typical resume for lower positions or indeed the resume for the internet.  Plain font, well spaced, definitely no color and it should put over a feeling of seriousness and self confidence. These are all qualities that a company will want to asses when hiring an executive and these are also subtly reflected in the resume. The more basic, down to earth and to the point the better. A lot of executives will hire professionals to create the appropriate resume on a job for job basis...  i.e. a different resume for each position applied for.

When writing the executive resume you may ask how do you write a professional resume or how to write a winning resume? What are the Resume objectives? We hope that this article has helped you clear up a few of these points.
